Upcoming Edward II Gigs
With rock-steady rhythms, blazing horns, fabulous harmonies and fiery melodeon melodies, Edward II were a regular feature of world and roots festivals across the world throughout the 90s.
Born out of the Rock Against Racism movement it was originally conceived by a loose punk collective to celebrate the similarities between the England’s diverse communities, particularly English folk and Caribbean roots and reggae. Signed to Cooking Vinyl the band released a number of critically acclaimed albums before splitting up in 1999.
In 2016 the band returned and released the critically acclaimed ‘Manchester’s Improving Daily’ CD (4* Guardian, 4* Mojo Magazine), and have been performing at festivals across the UK including Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival, Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Towersey and Boomtown.
